Sandy Bynum Williams

Sandy Bynum is the Executive Director of the Elba Chamber of Commerce. She moved to Elba to be close to family.
She is formerly the Director of the Mississippi Development Authority’s Division of Tourism. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television and Film and a Master’s Degree in Public Relations from The University of Southern Mississippi.
She has been the Executive Director of two city tourism offices - Meridian and Greenwood.
In 2002 Sandy was named one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women. And, in 2003 she was named to Who’s Who in East Mississippi and was listed five times as one of the Outstanding Young Women of America. In 2013 she graduated from the State Leadership Program and Your Town Alabama course.
Sandy sits on two National boards: The U. S. Travel Association’s Communications Committee and the ARC Tourism Advisory Council. She holds an Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation. She won the Public Relations Association’s 2005 Overall Best Public Relations and Marketing Campaign Award. She holds an AME International, Best Marketing Award and she won the coveted National Silver Microphone Award for communications during her early career she as a broadcast journalist.
